Baris NCEL Review - Season 2011/12 #40
2nd March, 2012
Albion Sports kept their Baris NCEL Division One title hopes alive with a 7-1 home victory over Grimsby Borough in midweek.
The Lions were 2-0 up by the interval with goals from Jordan Missin and Paul Helliwell before Will Sinclair pulled one back for the visitors on 52 minutes.
But, after that it was the home team all the way with Alex Cusack and Declan Normanschild putting them 4-1 ahead before a late treble from Tony Vento, Andrew Bailey and Missin's second made the scoreline more one-sided.
Fourth-placed Sports are now seven points behind leaders Pontefract Collieries but have four games in hand whilst Borough stay in eighteenth spot.
The other three games played in midweek were friendlies with Baris NCEL sides all enjoying home victories.
Shirebrook Town beat a Worksop Town XI 3-1 on Monday night before Bridlington Town were 3-2 winners over a Scarborough & District Representative side twenty-four hours later.
And, on Thursday night, Worksop Parramore defeated a Sheffield Wednesday XI, 5-0.
