24th February, 2012
Third placed Staveley Miners Welfare are now only behind Bridlington Town and Retford United on goal difference after their 2-0 win at home to Liversedge on Thursday night.
The Inkersall Road side found the net through David Cockerill midway through the first half and Simon Barraclough with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining to keep themselves very much in with a shout of the Baris NCEL Premier Division title.
A James Eyles brace helped Nostell Miners Welfare to a 3-1 home win over Lincoln Moorlands Railway after the away side had taken the lead on 65 minutes through Ben Garrick.
In Division One, Albion Sports were 5-3 victors at Eccleshill United as they keep their promotion hopes alive.
They had gone behind through Andy Howland's sixth-minute opener before Joe Brown and Jordan Missin gave them the lead by the half-hour.
Matthew Moore restored parity for Eccleshill by the break but Jamie Bairstow struck twice and Danny Brown also found the net for the visitors to secure the victory before a late second from Howland concluded the scoring.
Barton Town Old Boys moved into the Fourth Round of the League Cup with a 4-2 win at Worsbrough Bridge Athletic, Matthew Plant and Gareth Owen with the goals in extra-time after the sides were deadlocked following ninety minutes.
Arnold Town found themselves three goals down in the opening six minutes in their Notts Senior Cup Third Round tie at home to Carlton Town but the Eagles battled hard and managed to get it back to 3-4 by the break.
However, their Evo-Stik League opponents struck twice more in the second period to go through.
Worksop Parramore won 2-1 at home to a Sheffield Wednesday XI in a friendly, Gavin Davis and Lee Holmes with their goals.
Shirebrook Town's friendly with a Worksop Town XI was cancelled as the visitors could not raise a team but the game will now be played on Monday.
