Selby Town kept their hopes of snatching third place in the Premier Division alive with a 5-2 home win over Long Eaton United.

A goal from Lee Dawson, an Andy Hart penalty and further strikes from Christian Fox, Neil Towler and Brenton Leister kept the pressure on Carlton Town and Garforth Town.

Matthew McCaul grabbed both goals for the visitors.

If they are to finish in the top three, Selby must now win their last two matches and hope Carlton and Garforth draw when they meet at the weekend.

Pickering Town have moved up to ninth after a comfortable 4-0 victory at Liversedge, thanks to a Steve Baxter goal, a brace from Liam Salt and a Mark Swales spot-kick.

Meanwhile, there were mixed fortunes for our two NCEL sides who were in County Cup Final action.

Lincoln Moorlands picked up the Lincolnshire Senior A Cup trophy with a 3-1 victory over United Counties League champions Deeping Rangers at Lincoln City's Sincil Bank ground.

It was sweet revenge for Moorlands who had been knocked out of the FA Cup by Rangers earlier in the season.

But, Arnold Town were unlucky not to claim the Notts Senior Cup as they were beaten on penalties by UniBond Division One highflyers Eastwood Town on Thursday night.

Neither side could make the breakthrough through the ninety minutes or extra time at Meadow Lane although the Eagles acquitted themselves well.

And, in the lottery of the spot-kicks, Eastwood were successful 3-2.
