Vikings begin search for new boss

19th October, 2023

Goole AFC have announced that they have mutually agreed to part company with manager Mike Carmody and are now looking to appoint his successor.

The news comes following the Vikings' 8-0 home loss to Frickley Athletic on Tuesday night that leaves the side in seventeenth position in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division.

A statement released by the club said: "We would like to thank Mike for all his hard work and his dedication to the club over the last two to three years.

"The management team of Alan Jackson, Russ Eagle and Steve Jeff will take charge of the team in the interim until a permanent decision is made."

The search for Carmody's replacement has already begun with the club looking to get someone in place by the middle of next week.

Applicants are asked to forward their interest, together with a suitable CV, to club chairman Alan Wilson by email at awilson172@yahoo.co.uk.

The deadline for applications is midnight Saturday 21st October, 2023, with interviews to be carried out on the following Monday.

The successful applicant must be in a position to take up the role with immediate effect from next Wednesday (25th).

All applications will be treated in strict confidence.
