New chairman at Glasshoughton
11th June, 2015
Glasshoughton Welfare have announced that former manager Jon Miles has been appointed chairman of the club after Phil Riding stepped down due to work commitments.
A statement from the Leeds Road outfit said: "The club would like to thank Phil for his hard work, and loyalty over the past few years.
"Jon's reign as manager came to an amicable end at the conclusion of the season but, despite relegation from the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division, the committee recognised the tireless work that he had put in last season.
"And, it was realised that too many times he had been badly let down with with the lack of commitment from certain players.
"It was agreed that the committee members did not want to lose him and, after a recent meeting, he was unanimously voted into the role of chairman vacated by Phil."
