Campion and Tadcaster Albion beat higher-ranked opposition to make it through to the Third Round of this season's West Riding County Cup in midweek.

Campion continued their defence of the trophy with a 1-0 victory at Pitching In Northern Premier League hosts Brighouse Town, Aidan Kirby with a 20th minute decider in their Second Round encounter.

Tadcaster, meanwhile, caused an even bigger upset as they won 2-0 at home to Vanarama National League North's Farsley Celtic, beating a side three divisions higher than the Brewers in the FA's National League System with goals from Oliver Norman and Jordan Hines.

Wakefield AFC and Knaresborough Town were also winners in the competition as they beat league rivals to keep alive their hopes of lifting the silverware.

Jaydan Sandhu, Cameron Barnett, Mason Rubie and Jake Morrison netted for Wakefield as the Toolstation NCEL Division One side beat Premier Division opposition with a 4-2 scoreline against Golcar United.

In a game that was switched to the Be Well Support System, the visitors' goals came from Daniel Naidole and Josimar Bradshaw.

Knaresborough defeated Goole AFC 3-0 at Manse Lane, Philip Milsom's first half opener added to after the interval by a brace from Benjamin Parkes.

Garforth Town, meanwhile, bowed out 3-0 at home to Guiseley whilst, in the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup, Frickley Athletic were 4-1 winners at Nostell Miners Welfare.

Lloyd Smith scored twice for the away side, adding to goals from Alhassane Keita and Morgan James, with Harley Blankley getting on the scoresheet for the hosts.

And, there was a good run-out for Rossington Main as they were narrowly beaten 2-1 at home by Pontefract Collieries in a mid-season friendly, Bradley Grayson with the home side's goal.
